Clinical Social Worker

Donna Dozier is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with years of experience working with youth and young adults between the ages of 7 and 21, using evidence-based, trauma- and bereavement-informed assessments to provide the most appropriate psychosocial intervention for each client.

Prior to joining The Lucine Center, Donna worked at the Trauma and Grief Center at Texas Children’s hospital with her primary focus being the Santa Fe, TX community. In response to the school shooting that took the lives of 10 individuals in May of 2018, Donna was a member of the coordinated response team and worked closely with the community and school to provide trauma- and grief-focused services to the many youth and families that were impacted.

Donna spent the first seven years of her career working as a clinical social worker at MD Anderson Cancer Center. In her role there she worked closely with patients and families to complete psychosocial assessments to identify and eliminate barriers to care and provided the therapeutic support needed to help them to cope with their cancer diagnosis.

Donna completed her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Adams State University and a Master of Social Work from the University of Houston.

Donna has been married for eight years and is mom to Hudson, age 4, and Ella, age 3. Donna enjoys spending her free time taking bike rides around the neighborhood, playing with her kids in the backyard, or going to the beach.
