Clinical Social Worker
Iris Beshara, LCSW is a bilingual therapist specializing in trauma, grief and loss, and perinatal and postpartum support for children, adolescents, and adults. With extensive training in trauma-informed care, Iris is a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. She integrates evidence-based treatments into her holistic approach, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma and Grief Component Therapy (TGCT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), and Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs), as taught by Postpartum Support International.
Iris brings clinical experience from diverse settings, including schools, domestic violence shelters, transitional housing, and nonprofit organizations, where she has supported both parents and children affected by trauma. She has also served in the Peace Corps in the Dominican Republic. Iris is deeply committed to helping individuals reconnect with their bodies and their inner wisdom. She believes that through gentle yet profound attunement, people can unlock the innate ability to heal, ultimately feeling comfortable and safe in their bodies—whether for the first time or once again.
Iris earned her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Oklahoma in 2008 and her Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin in 2012. Outside of her practice, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two young children, and their dog, Khaleesi, often hiking on weekends in the great outdoors.
